Don't Procrastinate!! Start packing several weeks before the move. Careful planning and packing will save you time and money.
Label Your Boxes Properly... Packing one room at a time, label each box with a description of its contents, and most importantly, its eventual destination (kitchen, guest room, etc). Be as specific as possible to make unpacking easy.
Keep the Weight of Your Boxes Reasonable... A general rule is to put heavy items (books, cd's, records, etc.) into small boxes and lighter items (bedding, clothes, etc) into big boxes.
Pack a Bag for the First Night... Pack essential items in a separate bag and make sure you know where it is.
Leave Your Drawers Full... Lightweight items like clothing, linens, towels, etc can remain in their drawers. Always remove anything breakable, liquid, or heavy.
Bundle Long & Loose Items... Brooms, mops, curtain rods, etc can be bundled together using tape. This will make moving them a lot easier.
Secure the Box Lids... It's important that the top and bottom of your boxes are properly sealed. Folding the flaps is only acceptable if you don't care about your stuff.
Don't Pack Your Hanging Clothes... We'll bring 8-10 wardrobe boxes on the day of your move. These are free to use and we will take them back with us at the end of the move.
